Andalucia Day 5 Empuriabrava to L'Ametlla de Mar
The trip from Empuriabrava to L'Ametlla de Mar goes smoothly, there's quite a lot of traffic around Barcelona but we get to the Mercadona at our destination by lunchtime and stock up on everything except tomatoes. Ours are ripening gradually....
The campsite, Camping Nautic, is right next to the sea and we are lucky enough to find a plot under the pine trees, up the terraced hill, with a spectacular view of the sea. It's necessary to hitchhike to get to the shower block and the electricity (which is far too expensive anyway) doesn't reach that far but who cares!
Mercadona's fish goes straight into the frying pan and we lunch with the background noise of waves against the rocks, beautiful.
Eventually we drag ourselves away from the view and investigate L'Ametlla, which doesn't take long, enough said. Instead, in the other direction, the coastline of darkish orange rocks and pine trees is quite pretty and continues along the path GR 92 "Sendero Mediterráneo", although we only go a short way.
Drawn back to the view we sit outside the tent and contemplate the fading light on the darkening sea and the first lights. Peace.
