Andalucia Day 39 Bobadilla Estacion gets flooded
The day does not start as planned. All night there are storms and torrential rain and although we have a lie-in whilst waiting for improvements when we get up the roads around us are awash in brown mud. When the flow starts increasing also the neighbors are out and about and looking concerned. The river is just behind us but we are a bit higher up so we are mostly a bit concerned for the car. Fortunately at a certain point it starts to decrease and eventually leaves a thick layer of mud everywhere. We slither out to see what's happening. The road to Antequera is closed because flooded and apparently also access to the other main road.
After lunch we go out for another look. The flooding is getting less but there are stones and mud everywhere, and trying to get around by car if it's not essential is unappealing. It's going to be a quiet day...
But in the end at 5.30ish we do venture out, the mud is still very bad in Bobadilla but the road to Antequera is free and dry. We go to church and then to Casa Meson Diego, because today, after all, is a special date for us. Here we have an absolutely superb meal: adobito frito followed by solomillo de retinto, the best meat I have ever tested and I mean ever, wine, sherry and caramel vodka on the house, total bill just 26.40, a perfect end to a strange day.
