Andalucia Day 48 Cala San Pedro

The day starts cloudy but rain is forecast so we venture out to Las Negras which is pretty much deserted.

Las Negras Almeria end October

We start off on the road to Cala San Pedro but it does indeed start raining plus it's still windy. We retreat back to our cabin for an early lunch.
In the meantime the clouds change from dark grey to light so we try again. Cala San Pedro is 'famous' because it hosts a hippie community, there's a freshwater spring and so some people have converted dilapidated buildings and live there all year. The road is quite long and eventually becomes a path. There are quite a few people coming and going. The rain has started again, a spitting drizzle but fortunately without wind. The path along the cliffs is quite narrow in places. We meet a Bulgarian guy by bike who is hoping to spend a few days there.

We arrive down at Cala San Pedro, but perhaps because it's such a grey day or perhaps because there's no one around it doesn't seem much of a magical place.

Las Negras Cala San Pedro end October

We trudge back, the rain still spitting and perhaps a bit tired from all the walking.
The black cat welcomes us.
