Andalucia Day 19 El Puerto de Santa María
A slow start to the day, blog to write, washing to be done, then a stroll around El Puerto de Santa María.
Small shops, some smart houses, some dilapidated, people busy with breakfast. We have a look at the local market, but being Monday the fishmongers are closed. Then on to Bodega Oberjan where we buy Vermouth and try a glass of Pedro Jimenez sherry. After, Mercadona for fish for lunch.

During lunch the television, which we haven't got at home, is on to watch a programme about bulls and bullfighting, a culture about which we know nothing and therefore is interesting.
Later on we walk down to the riverside and right along to the sea, there's a long seafront promenade with people walking and cycling. We go through Puerto Sherry, a new development which is quite attractive from an architectural point of view but unfortunately interspersed with the skeletons of unfinished buildings.
It's a long walk and we stop for a caña and to wait for the sunset.
Then back through the darkening streets as shops are closing...it seems like we have adapted to Spanish times for doing things!
