Sardinia in May Sunday Pineta Sant’Anna to Baia Sant’Anna hike along the coast
Still curious about the various Sant’Anna bays, on Sunday morning we walk south along the coast from Pineta di sant’Anna, past Porto Ainu where there’s a water sport club, I think linked to a holiday village behind it because there are quite a few foreign tourists down that end, to the small promontory beyond it, full of flowers. It’s (another) beautiful day. Sunny, with a refreshing breeze from a stunning blue sea which means you couldn’t possibly want to be anywhere else right now. There’s a small group of other leisurely hikers/walkers.
From there we head south, following the path along the coast, partly on a dirt track road with very little traffic, just a couple of cars go by, and a group of buggies on an organized tour which lift some dust. Nevertheless, it’s a pleasant and undemanding walk through Mediterranean vegetation, pinewoods to the right and rocks and small bays, mostly filled with seaweed to the left. We get as far as the official Baia Sant’Anna, also mostly full of seaweed, although the southern part has been cleared. There’s nobody around. We stop and rest a few minutes and eat some taralli and then walk back.
In the afternoon after a leisurely lunch, we go for a stroll in the pinewood and sit for a short while but don’t go to swim. The beach is quite busy (for solitary people on a May holiday)
