Sardinia in May Day 10 Santa Teresa di Gallura - Capo Testa
Our first morning at Capo Testa di Santa Teresa di Gallura and our first thought is too explore more of Capo Testa. The sun is quite hot for walking among the rocks so we head out early, well before 8 o'clock, on the path down to Cala Luna. We were last here probably about 16 years ago and we remember the hippies camped out in the area. This morning there's just a lone swimmer already getting dressed and the rather unpleasant smell of wild boar which probably spent the night there. The environment and the rocks are as fascinating as ever.
Later on we go to Santa Teresa for a stroll around,
to get some cream for Andrea's insect bites and to see if we can track down some interesting fish. The latter proves as difficult as it did all those years back so we go to the supermarket and buy some local pork meat which I cook in the oven with aubergines and potatoes. It's good.
In the afternoon we rest and I do a little work. We venture out at about 4.30 and explore the area to the north east of the lighthouse ready for our sunset visit in the evening. Supper is early, of broad beans and goat ricotta.
The trip to see the sunset is relaxing, the rocks taking different forms in the fading light, a cloudless sky and cool air. It's good.
