Cilento in October - Agropoli

The day is cloudy and likely to continue and we were a little too busy the day before and I have work from 5 pm so we decide on an easy day. We spend the morning exploring Agropoli, back up around the historical centre, round below the castle and then through the rather untidy centre to the beach to the north. It is a grey day, and the sand seems grey too and the beach a little uninspiring as we sit and contemplate while eating another Sfogliatella.

On the way back we stop at the open air market - just a couple of stalls selling fruit and vegetables, nothing special, we end up at the handy Despar to get a couple of things for lunch.

After lunch we go towards the Trentova-Tresino area. We set off on foot; it's nice not to have to use the car, there's a footpath most of the way between the port of Agropoli and the Trentova bay but there's very little traffic anyway. The views are nice, with the Amalfi coast far away the other side of the bay of Salento but Trentova itself is nothing special, or is it just the grey day?

We continue along the path near the sea which goes up and down amongst the undergrowth and then after Cala Pastena go up to join the path 700 which links Agropoli and Santa Maria di Castellabate.

It would be an interesting walk to do but we've been doing a lot of walking lately so instead we walk back towards the entrance to the park but on the 700 path deviating for the view from the Belvedere. It's still cloudy and a little damp and chilly so we call it a day and head back to base.
