East Coast Sicily Day 14 Pozzallo Beach walk 2

After all the sightseeing on Sunday we decide for a day on the beach and set off from the centre of Pozzallo well-equipped with food and drink, a small umbrella and a few towels. We walk and walk and walk until the horizon gets nearer, the beach gets narrower and the already few people become even fewer. 

It's all splendid, the perfectly clean and sandy beach which is perfectly firm for walking barefoot with no sign of glass or other dangers, the weather which is warm and sunny without being too hot, the soft warm dunes behind the beach, the gentle waves in the sea which welcome me for a swim before lunch. 

We stop for a picnic 

but arrive back in Pozzallo after a round trip of 22kms thirsty and absolutely famished. Obviously the only possible destination is Pasticceria Cappello and obviously cannolo and mulberry granita with whipped cream. An absolutely spectacular day.
